Job Title: Salon Business Consultant Great opportunity! Salon Business Consultant is a sales solution specialist role, covering and growing a territory in and around Chicago and surrounding suburbs.

Ideal candidate would reside in or very near the following cities: Chicago, IL.

Uncapped Commission, vehicle reimbursement plan and full benefits!

Essential Function Salon/Beauty Industry experience highly preferred.

The Salon Business Consultant is responsible for an assigned territory of customers to help grow their salons’ overall sales. The consultant must meet and achieve assigned sales goals by utilizing manufacturer education and sales resources. Sales should be expanded by opening new doors, selling approved beauty products, and introducing new products and concepts. The consultant actively uses all forms of social media as an additional outlet to serve salons, barbers, spas, schools, and licensed beauty professionals.

Primary Duties

Grow the Business: Identify key accounts within territory and establish an efficient route for growing and developing existing customers while seeking new partnerships.

Develop, plan, implement, monitor, and track in‑salon promotions, programs and concepts for customers.

Determine customers’ needs and offer products and services to meet those needs.

Communicate sales initiatives and partner with vendors to achieve corporate sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Respond to all email, text, and phone communication within 24 hours.

Analyze accounts to decide necessary brand support, education, and promotions for growth.

Call on customers in person to execute established sales goals.

Comply strictly with established procedures for processing returns, including pickup and documentation.

Work with all business functions—customer service, accounts receivable, IT, and others—to support the territory.

Prospect new customers through cold calling, social media, and digital outlets.

Manage all administrative aspects of the role in a timely manner, including daily order entry and Salesforce maintenance.

Attract and retain salon clientele by utilizing social media for communication, promotion, education, and product knowledge.

Conduct effective in‑person and virtual product knowledge classes.

Communicate with the manager regarding calls, visits, orders, sales progress, follow‑up plans, and any assistance needed.

Act as a subject matter expert on digital platforms and social media to grow the business and share knowledge with peers.

Attend all meetings, functions, and events as established by the company or supervisor.

Support new initiatives with a growth mindset and positively foster change management throughout the team.

Demonstrate a desire to learn and grow continuously, focusing on digital & social media techniques and professional development.

Experience and Skills Required

High school diploma or equivalent certification.

Minimum of one year of outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with consultative selling emphasis.

Must live within the assigned territory.

Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising preferred.

Excellent knowledge and experience using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platforms for building pipelines and business.

Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Salesforce.com, Outlook, PDF Expert, and Oracle; experience with iPad a plus.

Ability to build an online community and create social connections, including use of search engines and other internet tools.

Requires local travel within the territory, attendance at shows, conventions, and educational events (may include overnight travel and weekend nights).

Strong time management and organization skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Professional business image and positive public interaction.

Clear written and verbal communication skills at all organizational levels.
