A prestigious national law firm seeks an experienced Tax Controversy Partner to join its Atlanta office. The ideal candidate will have substantial trial experience in tax controversy matters and an established portable book of business. This position offers the chance to lead complex, high-stakes cases and work alongside elite litigators in a firm known for its excellence across multiple practice areas.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage tax controversy and litigation matters from inception through resolution.
Develop and execute strategic litigation plans tailored to client needs.
Represent clients before federal and state tax authorities, including the IRS and state departments of revenue.
Oversee and mentor associates and junior attorneys on litigation and trial preparation.
Build and expand client relationships while managing a portable book of business.
Collaborate across practice groups to address clients’ complex business and tax challenges.
Qualifications
Extensive trial experience handling tax controversy or tax defense matters.
Proven record of developing and maintaining client relationships and managing a book of business (~$500 K preferred).
JD from an accredited law school and Georgia Bar admission required.
Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
Demonstrated leadership, client service orientation, and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
