Position Summary A well-established aerospace technology company in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a highly skilled CNC Lathe and Mill Machinist / Programmer. This is a full-time, hourly position with benefits, offering a competitive salary based on experience. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 7+ years of hands‑on experience in machining and programming, with proficiency in SolidWorks and CAM software. Expertise in both lathe and mill operations is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Program and operate 3- and 4-axis CNC mills and lathes to manufacture precision aerospace components.
Design, develop, and fabricate custom tooling to support FAA repair station requirements.
Create detailed work instructions, process drawings, and documentation for shop use.
Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards to ensure precision and compliance.
Lead jobs from programming through to final machining and inspection.
Train and mentor junior machinists and shop personnel.
Support future equipment procurement to enhance shop capabilities.
Ensure adherence to quality control, calibration, and safety protocols.
Collaborate effectively with engineering and quality teams.
Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of CNC programming and machining experience (lathe and mill).
Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.).
Strong understanding of GD&T and its practical application.
Experience with aerospace-grade materials and tight tolerance machining.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Requirements
Must pass DOT-compliant drug testing (drug-free workplace).
Signing of Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) required upon hire.
Must comply with all FAA and AS9100 standards where applicable.
