Overview
We are searching for a highly analytical applicant who is capable of working full time and possesses strong negotiation and organizational abilities to join our growing firm as an estate planning attorney. You will create wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for our clients and their families and educate them on matters of insurance and powers of attorney. To guarantee that an estate is managed in accordance with the estate owner's intentions, this role demands a high degree of responsibility. Responsibilities
Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation, and forming a strategy for a plan of action
Advise clients regarding retirement plans, charitable giving, and insurance options
Draft and file wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
Communicate with clients about plans for dispersing their assets
Confer with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process
Review documents drafted by the Estate Planning Legal Paralegal for quality and accuracy before they are sent to the client for review
Work directly with clients on their estate planning needs and ensure that all questions are answered and all revisions are completed prior to signing
Revise document drafts
Manage legal workflows
Work effectively with the estate planning team to ensure that the client experience exceeds expectations
Make sure all deadlines are met for review of documents and that drafts are sent to the client in the timeframe as set out in the Representation Agreement
Provide open and transparent feedback and communication with the Estate Planning Team and clients
Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
100% accuracy, 100% of the time, in drafting legal provisions that exceed paralegals’ drafting (specific legal clauses, appropriate orchestration, and flow of planning tools)
100% of estate planning drafts sent to clients within the timelines set out in the Representation Agreement, or an updated timeline communicated to the client
Qualifications
Wide range of knowledge regarding real estate-related topics such as title insurance, wills and trusts, property management, and litigation
Excellent communication skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations
Must have worked on estate planning and probate law issues for at least 1-2 years
Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required
Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association)
Active Member of the Massachusetts Bar Association
Compensation $90,000 - $100,000 per year
