Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, enthusiastic, and inclusive staff member to join our team as a Tobacco and Youth Program Coordinator. The Tobacco and Youth Program Coordinator will work directly with our youth engagement program and will align the State Tobacco Education and Prevention Partnership (STEPP) grant work with youth interests and projects related to substance abuse, mental health, and social support. This position will supervise and mentor the Youth Engagement Specialists (YES) and provide assistance to department and community partners on strategies for youth engagement. The coordinator will also provide tobacco education to youth populations and community organizations, connect with healthcare providers to promote culturally relevant tobacco cessation materials and practices, and contribute to evidence‑based cessation practices and culturally relevant cessation resources. The typical schedule for this hybrid position is Monday – Friday; 8:00AM – 4:30PM (3 days in office, 2 days remote). Some evenings and weekend work may be needed. The direct supervisor will be the Tobacco and Youth Senior Health Educator with the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment. Responsibilities

Supervise and mentor Youth Engagement Specialists, coordinate training, provide resources, assign and review work, participate in the interview and selection process, evaluate performance, order meals, and approve time off. Attend and travel to evening youth coalition meetings in Loveland, Fort Collins, and Estes Park to better understand youth experiences and interests. Collect data and evaluate program effectiveness, assess community needs, and recommend improvements to program procedures and services. Commit to learning about and engaging in conversations on racial and health equity and disparities as they relate to the Social Determinants of Health. Build and maintain diverse partnerships, establish collaborative goals, and resolve conflicts. Conduct marketing efforts in partnership with the Office of Communications and Technology, including developing or refining webpages, creating and distributing educational materials, developing outreach plans, and making presentations to community groups and collateral agencies. Support the development, design, and implementation of tobacco prevention and cessation programming and curriculum. Collaborate with healthcare providers to implement current evidence‑based cessation practices and learn about the materials they currently offer. Research current cessation models used in participating healthcare settings and conduct a formal best‑practice scan for culturally relevant cessation resources. Develop, implement, and present educational and informational materials related to tobacco, including fact sheets, newsletters, advertisements, web content, and talking point papers. Attend community engagement events to share culturally relevant tobacco and nicotine cessation resources. Qualifications

Three (3) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties. Possess reliable transportation to be able to work in any County facility as needed and required. Benefits
