The Clinical Educator is a professional nurse who provides consultation to nursing personnel and conducts and coordinates educational experiences. The responsibilities encompass assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical skills development, in-services and continuing education programs at the Unit and/or Department level. The Clinical Educator possesses the clinical skills necessary to provide expert opinion and guidance to a select group of patients. The Nursing Education Clinical Coordinator keeps current bedside skills through regular patient care activities and assignments. Minimum Education

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. ADN required, BSN preferred. Minimum Work Experience

3-5 years of clinical experience. Currently working in a clinical capacity. Ability to function in a clinical leadership or charge nurse capacity. New hire and New Graduate Preceptor experience. Experienced leadership in the management of complex changing patient conditions. Required Licenses, Certificates, Registration

Current licensure in the State of Illinois as a Registered Nurse. CPR certification is required. ACLS certification is recommended. Certification in specialty areas desirable. Knowledge/Skills
