Overview The City Treasurer's Department seeks a Deputy City Treasurer to provide advanced financial, managerial, and operational analysis, lead projects, and maintain fiscal efficiency.

Responsibilities

Provide management, fiscal, and administrative support to the City Treasurer’s Office.

Conduct comprehensive financial, managerial, and operational analysis and develop recommendations to improve processes, programs, and financial efficiency.

Lead and participate in projects requiring advanced analytical skills and independent judgment, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.

Supervise paraprofessional and professional staff, conduct performance evaluations, coordinate training, and implement hiring, discipline, and termination procedures.

Prepare financial reporting and analysis in accordance with GAAP, including monthly Government Code Section 41004 reports, and review and approve requisitions.

Oversee daily operations or projects of the City Treasurer’s Department, serve as second level of approval for expenditures, and manage projects and prepare complex reports.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field.

Three (3) years of journey-level professional experience in area of assignment.
