The Boeing Company’s Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a
C-17 Flight Test Engineering Manager
to join our team in
Edwards, AFB, CA .
Position Responsibilities
Manage employees performing activities within multiple engineering disciplines
Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals
Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements
Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Manage, develop and motivate employees
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field, or non‑US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
5+ years of experience in an engineering technical lead or management role
5+ years’ experience working across functional groups and engineering disciplines on a Military aircraft program
Experience synthesizing program/project/SOW requisition into actionable and measurable tasks
Experience with systems engineering, configuration management, and quality management functions, processes and requirements
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of experience in flight test engineering or related engineering disciplines supporting complex aerospace programs
3+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in test planning, execution, and data analysis across multiple functions
3+ years of experience in C-17 engineering and existing engineering technical network across engineering groups/skills
3+ years of experience working on C-17 design/repair (Operational, Depot, Repair/Overhaul, and/or Build/Manufacturing) for structural/avionic/electronic/electrical systems/subsystems
3+ years of experience applying program and project management principles (scheduling, risk management, cost control, and performance tracking)
1+ year of experience with direct involvement in mentoring, developing and evaluating engineering personnel across various disciplines and/or functions
1+ year of experience developing and applying engineering processes, procedures and process‑based metrics to drive efficiency
Familiarity with DCMAI 8210.1C/D
Skilled at presenting technical content to program leadership, Air Force customers, and integrated test teams with clarity and precision
Ability to negotiate, influence, and build consensus with diverse stakeholders including government, program management, and engineering leadership
Ability to understand and convey the big picture and the inter‑relationships of skills and activities at the system and aircraft level, including the impact of changes in one area on another area
Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly across different audiences and varying levels of the organization/Military ranks to convey product design/repair

Pay & Benefits Summary pay range: $138,550 – $187,450. Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities are available.
