Deliver expert tax preparation and planning services for individuals, businesses, and fiduciaries. Review and approve complex tax returns while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Provide strategic tax planning and serve as a trusted advisor to clients and firm leadership. Drive efficiency, profitability, and high-quality standards across the tax division. Mentor and develop staff to promote continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth.

What To Expect

Client Service & Technical Expertise:

Review and sign off on individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and estate tax returns. Provide proactive tax planning and consulting for high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and fiduciaries. Research complex tax issues and deliver well-documented recommendations. Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations while minimizing client liabilities. Act as the primary point of contact for key client relationships, maintaining timely and professional communication.

Engagement & Practice Management:

Manage multiple client engagements and ensure deadlines and budgets are consistently met. Identify opportunities to expand client relationships by offering additional services. Support leadership in achieving revenue and profitability goals. Contribute to process improvements, technology adoption, and quality control standards.

Staff Leadership & Development:

Supervise, train, and mentor staff in tax compliance and planning. Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback. Develop training programs to ensure consistent application of firm policies and procedures. Promote a collaborative culture focused on accountability, excellence, and continuous learning.

Other Duties:

Perform additional tasks, duties, and responsibilities as needed or assigned by leadership to support departmental and organizational objectives.

What You Need

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.

Master’s degree in taxation or MBA, a plus.

Candidate must hold an active CPA license in good standing or an active Enrolled Agent (EA) designation.

6-10+ years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting firm required.

Supervisory experience required.

Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws required.

Proficiency with tax software such as CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, or UltraTax required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills required.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment required.

Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and motivate staff required.

Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on growth and efficiency preferred.

Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed during peak seasons required.

Total Rewards

Starting annual base salary between $80,000 - $109,525.00

Variable compensation potential (Discretionary Bonus)
