Position Summary:

The Senior Manager of Scientific Communications will be responsible for the timely and efficient execution of publication and scientific communication tactics aligned with the Scientific Communications strategy. This individual must be well-organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment and able to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Specific Duties:

Draft, develop, and submit high quality and impactful abstracts, posters, and slides for conference presentations. In accordance with best practices and industry guidelines (GPP, ICMJE), coordinate author review and approval and integrate reviewer comments.

Develop and update scientific communication deliverables including but not limited to medical booth resources, MSL materials, AMCP dossier, and scientific communications platform.

Engage with internal and external subject matter experts and authors for participation in the development of scientific communication materials and publications. Engage with scientific journals and conference organizers.

Support the management of vendors for manuscript development.

Facilitate review and approval of scientific communication materials and publications through medical/legal/regulatory review.

Provide cross-functional medical writing support as requested.

Develop and maintain expertise in disease area by continuously surveying the medical and scientific literature for the identification of relevant publications.

Support literature gap analysis to identify opportunities for Scientific Communications.

Manage Braeburn publication documentation and published literature repositories.

Contribute to the development of the scientific communications and publications tactical plan.

Skills:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work independently.

Strong working knowledge of GPP guidelines and ICMJE recommendations.

Experience in working closely with thought leaders, authors, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Experience managing scientific communications vendors is preferred.

Strong medical writing skills with demonstrated ability to write/develop, review, edit, and submit manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations.

Experience achieving acceptance of conference abstracts and publication of peer-reviewed manuscripts.

Ability to interpret scientific data and statistical outputs.

Experience utilizing AI tools to support scientific communications is preferred.

Demonstrated strong project management skills.

Education/Experience:

Advanced scientific degree preferred (e.g., PhD, PharmD, or MD).

Minimum 5 years of experience in publications and scientific communications development and execution in an agency or pharmaceutical environment.

Advanced computer and internet skills, including knowledge of Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Excel), Veeva PromoMats, SharePoint, and reference databases (e.g., PubMed).

Proven experience with working in a hybrid or remote environment.

Ability to travel (up to 10%).
