Position Summary
Senior Product Analyst is responsible for preparing and developing state filings for submission to the Department of Insurance, analyzing objection letters from regulators, and coordinating responses. The role develops rates, rules, and forms for new product implementation and works on an integration team to update the policy management system. The analyst prepares internal communication to stakeholders and serves as a key liaison with regulators monitoring compliance statutes, bureau rate, rule, and form advisement via circulars and bulletins.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, prepare, and submit filings to State Insurance Departments and respond to examiner inquiries to secure approval.
Review ISO, NCCI, AAIS Bureau circulars and bulletins to determine product impact and company action needed.
Analyze state insurance regulations and statutes as necessary to respond to DOI inquiries.
Develop and compose new product language to support new or enhanced existing forms.
Research, develop, and maintain coverage forms and endorsements to support new and existing products to meet industry development and trends.
Prepare detailed communications for stakeholders and adhere to system service pack updates to the policy administration system.
Conduct quality control audits across various platforms (Reference Connect for updates of various bureaus and GNY independent rates, rules, and forms).
Provide necessary documentation and support for system programming, including work on an integration team to update the policy management system.
Work with actuarial on rate analysis to determine effects on GNY book of business by line of business or state.
Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of 5 years insurance experience.
ISO experience and understanding of rate and rules required.
Experience in commercial lines insurance products preferred.
Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of SERFF preferred.
Ability to research and analyze filing issues to be in compliance with state laws and regulations.
Skills
Strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail, basis legal research skills, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently, resolve problems, and develop action plans.
Familiarity with various bureau databases (Insurance Services Offices: Manual/Circulars).
Salary The salary range for this role is $77,500-$141,400. The listed annual salary range posted for this position is subject to change and may vary depending on performance, education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, demonstrated proficiency in the competencies required for the role and business needs. Base pay is just one component of GNY's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus based on performance.
