Participate in education of technical staff, surgical pathology fellows and residents in tissue grossing techniques.
Maintain patient and procedure data relative to workload and quality assurance of section operations.
Ensure compliance with accrediting agencies for pathology laboratory activities, including documentation of competency testing.
Assist section management with oversight of operations and personnel in the surgical pathology and autopsy laboratories, directing workflow issues related to patient tissue collection.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited Pathologist Assistant Program.
Bachelor's Degree in Biological sciences or allied health sciences.
No experience required if graduated from an accredited Pathologist Assistant Program; or 3 years experience performing gross examination and evaluation of human surgical and/or autopsy specimens with a Bachelor's degree.
Required: PA ASCP certification within 180 days.
Licenses & Certifications Required: PA(ASCP) – Pathologists' Assistant American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) within 180 days.
