Job Title Assistant Professor, College of Nursing

Job Summary The University of Kentucky, College of Nursing Undergraduate Program seeks an Assistant Professor, Special Title Series (tenure-eligible) position. This 9-month appointment anticipates a Distribution of Effort of about 50-70% Teaching & Advising, 5-20% Research/Scholarly Activity, 0-20% Clinical Practice Service, and 5% Service/Professional Development, reviewed annually. Start date on or before January 1, 2026. Based in Lexington, KY. The role includes teaching, advising, mentoring undergraduate students, evaluating clinical courses, guiding student clinical experiences, and providing clinical services as an undergraduate clinical instructor. Teaching experience preferred.

Requirements

DNP, PhD, or Doctoral Degree in nursing or a related field.

Minimum of two years’ experience of professional nursing within the last five years.

Active unencumbered Kentucky license as a registered nurse.

Preparation in teaching and learning principles, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Teach, advise, and mentor undergraduate nursing students.

Implement and evaluate didactic and clinical courses.

Plan and evaluate student clinical experiences.

Provide clinical services as an undergraduate clinical instructor.

Contribute to scholarly practice and advance nursing professionalism.
