Job Summary:

The University of Kentucky College of Nursing Undergraduate Program seeks a UKHC Clinical Faculty of Excellence – Assistant Professor (tenure‑ineligible) for a 10‑Month instructional faculty position. This appointment will focus on undergraduate BSN instruction in the medical‑surgical core course bundle and the clinical practice component of the BSN track. The faculty member will deliver classroom and online teaching, supervised student clinical practice, assess competency, advise and mentor students, participate in college committees, and engage in scholarship and collaborative activities with faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

Teach medical‑surgical and core BSN courses in a 50–70% Teaching/Advising effort with up to 40% Clinical Practice/Instruction.

Supervise and evaluate nursing students in clinical settings and clinical instruction in laboratory or simulation courses.

Participate in college committees, scholarship, and collaboration with faculty and staff in nursing education.

Adhere to the 0–10% Research and Scholarly Activity and 5–10% Service and Professional Development distribution of effort.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree in Nursing (preferred) – a minimum of 2 years of professional nursing experience within the last 5 years required.

Current, unencumbered Kentucky registered nurse license – active and in good standing.

Experience in medical‑surgical nursing and successful teaching of baccalaureate nursing students preferred.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; ability to mentor and advise adult students.
