The Senior TLL role is integral to successfully delivering the Marketing Vision for the Rare Blood Disorders (RBD) Portfolio, and future line extensions / NMEs. The Senior TLL plays a critical role in garnering insights from customers to shape strategy and execution, and develop advocacy with Therapeutic Area Experts (TAEs) to shape market beliefs and behaviors. The Senior TLL will also leverage their strong relationships with our TAEs to connect them with decision makers across Genentech to support our RBD objectives. We are looking for TLLs with the capability to help translate and execute RBD strategies and Squad priorities to local / regional Customer Engagement opportunities within the ecosystems (local field teams). Qualified candidates should have expertise in bleeding disorders or classical hematology orhave the ability to get up to speed quickly. Strong candidates will have demonstrated the ability to inspire & influence, show leadership and collaboration skills, be strategic, and be able to thrive in a cross-functional matrixed organization.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Establish and foster effective partnerships with National and Regional Thought Leader HCPs, and occasionally with specialty pharmacy personnel

Develop advocacy among National and Regional TAEs to further advance RBD and brand priorities

Ability to understand, integrate, and synthesize insights across customers, competitors, patient advocacy groups to shape strategic planning and customer impact

Coordinate and communicate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Commercialleadership, customer engagement roles (field), marketing, medical network, HEOR, pricing contracting and distribution, contract operations, compliance, and legal) to ensure a cohesive and compliant understanding of Therapeutic Area (TA) strategy, priorities, and needs

Ensure our TAEs are educated on the most up-to-date data and messages for our brands and markets, and compliantly correcting any misperceptions

Partner with medical team on TAE engagement, especially at conferences

Compliantly manage fee-for-service activities pertaining to TAE activities (i.e. consulting agreements…etc.)

Partner with cross-functional teams in local geographic areas to gather customer insights and develop strategic plans for key customers.

Effectively influence customer perception and advocacy for current and future products

Actively participate on core Marketing and TLL sub-teams such as advisory board planning / execution, insights, congresses, speaker training for HCPs and patient conferences

Work autonomously to make decisions and act, in close alignment with the full product value proposition andcustomer positioning

Accountable for being fully knowledgeable of and compliant with all relevant companypolicies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations that govern conduct of GNE activities

Business travel, by air or car, is regularly required

This is a field based position and the ideal candidate can live anywhere in the following states : Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Washington, but proximity to a major airport is preferred due to travel requirements. Relocation benefits are not provided for this role.

Knowledge / Skills

Extensive experience building relationships and advocacy with National and Regional Hemophilia A TAEs, but other therapeutic area experience will also be considered

Ability to educate and challenge Therapeutic Area Experts (HCPs)

Ability to articulate business problems and identify solutions

Direct experiences with interpreting and applying market, customer, product or competitor data and utilizing data effectively for making decisions

Ability to utilize computer programs to build and share presentations, utilize spreadsheets to decipher important insights, and host virtual meetings with internal stakeholders / customers

Ability to successfully manage cross-functional projects in collaboration with other internal stakeholders and vendors

Ability to think with an enterprise mindset

Ability to influence and inspire individuals and teams across the commercial and medical network, from front-line employees to the executive level

Ability to flex and thrive in a cross-functional matrix environment

Who You Are

You hold a Bachelor’s Degree

You hold a minimum of 5 years cross-functional industry experience in life sciences (pharma or biotechnology) or related industry (e.g., payers, health systems), is required

Additional Desired Qualifications

Graduate Level degree

Extensive experience influencing customers in a Thought Leader Liaison role and / or Account Manager role

Bleeding disorders or classical hematology experience preferred, but not required

Direct or indirect experience shaping or influencing marketing strategies, plans, and tactics

Proven and thorough knowledge of Commercial issues associated with a highly competitive therapeutic area

Proven track record of consistent achievement or overachievement in assigned responsibilities, goals, objectives, and any other relevant metrics

Previous experience building, implementing, and seamlessly executing action plans, programs, and related activities

Location

This is a field based position and the ideal candidate can live anywhere in the following states : Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Washington, but proximity to a major airport is preferred due to travel requirements

Relocation benefits are not provided for this role

Approximate travel : 50-60%+ overnight travel (including weekends)

This position requires significant driving of a company-provided vehicle as well as prolonged periods of sitting, both of which are part of the essential duties and responsibilities of the role. As a result, Genentech, Inc. (Company) from time to time will check your motor vehicle record for purposes of determining your eligibility for driving a Company vehicle or driving any vehicle on Company business.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of TX, LA, AR, OK, MO, IL, CO, UT, OR, or WA is $209,900.00 – $389,900.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position is eligible to earn incentive compensation that is calculated and paid in accordance with the applicable Incentive Compensation Plan for the role.
