The Lead HR Business Partner (HRBP) will partner closely with store leaders across the region to deliver proactive HR support aligned with business goals, enhance teammate experience, and ensure compliance with labor laws. This role requires hands‑on leadership in employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational development.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with store and regional leaders to provide strategic and operational HR support.
Deliver expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, succession planning, and workforce development.
Foster an inclusive and engaging work culture that reflects company values.
Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to implement enterprise initiatives in talent development, compensation, benefits, and DEI.
Analyze HR data and trends to identify operational improvement opportunities.
Ensure compliance with California and Federal labor laws and company policies.
Lead change management initiatives to improve teammate engagement, retention, and performance.
Oversee headcount management and partner with Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) for timely staffing.
Support union labor relations and provide guidance in unionized environments (if applicable).
Required Qualifications & Skills
8+ years of HR experience with a bachelor's degree (or 6+ years with a master's degree).
Prior experience in multi‑unit retail or large operations environment (1000+ employees). Strong knowledge of California and Federal employment laws.
Exceptional communication, coaching, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple locations and travel regionally up to 50%.
HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP) preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with union environments and labor relations.
Retail industry experience.
Demonstrated ability to lead regional initiatives and manage diverse teams.
Additional Information
Bonus: Up to 15% performance‑based incentive.
