Position Title: 1.0 High School Counselor Supervisor: Principal & Student Support Services Director Location: Flagstaff High School 2025-2026 School Year; Benefits offered include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Arizona State Retirement (required). SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
Demonstrate the competencies and behaviors needed to improve student preparedness and mastery and to support the core values, vision, and mission of the Flagstaff Unified School District. JOB SUMMARY:
Testing, Counseling, Academic Advisor. Certification Requirements:
Arizona Department of Public Safety, IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card; Arizona Department of Education Guidance Counselor Certificate; Valid Arizona Department of Education School Counselor, PreK-12 certificate required; Master’s Degree in School Guidance and Counseling. QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Arizona Department of Education School Counselor, PreK-12 certificate. Valid fingerprint clearance card from the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Master’s Degree in School Guidance and Counseling. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Adheres to the American School Counselor Association Ethical Standards for School Counselors. Experience in the use of technology in research, school counseling program development, management, and delivery. Prior experience as a school counselor. Experience in college and career readiness work. Ability to work with diverse populations and cultures. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and manage a comprehensive school counseling program based on the ASCA National Model. Maintain accountability and collaboration within the counseling program, making data-informed, evidence-based decisions. Provide direct and indirect services to students, including instruction, academic planning, crisis response, and consultation with parents and educators. Create and update student schedules, facilitate success team meetings, and organize parent and school events related to college and career planning. Monitor academic records, support 504 referral processes, assist in crisis situations, and collaborate with the Special Education, Tier 1/2/3 teams, and behavioral health agencies. EEO Statement:
