Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Responsible for the coding, design, implementation, and maintenance of custom and commercial applications. Initiate, manage and coordinate in-house or outsourced IT application software projects. Deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing IT applications / services by applying industry best practices and aligning with departmental goals.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Application Development:
Write, maintain, troubleshoot, debug, and deploy codes. Participate in all phases of the software development process.
Application Support:
Maintain and support software applications and their associated infrastructures, services, databases.
Project Management:
Assist in planning and executing software application improvement projects by studying the processes and looking for problem areas. Analyze data to effectively coordinate the installation of new systems or the modification of existing systems.
Best Practice Implementation:
Document and demonstrate solutions to software applications discrepancies’ by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code to increase equipment reliability. Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
THM:
Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total House Keeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant in like new condition.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous Related Experience Required
1 - 5 years’ work experience in programming, software development, or system integration based on education.
Technical Skills Required to Perform This Job
Proficiency in multiple programming languages. (i.e., C#, Python, Sql, VBA)
Understanding of software development lifecycle and related methodologies.
Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders.
Ensuring accuracy and quality in code and documentation.
Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing project requirements.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of five (5) years of direct job‑related experience; or Associate’s degree with three (3) years of direct job‑related experience; or Bachelor’s degree with one (1) year of direct job‑related experience.
