The Division of Cardiac Critical Care of the Department of Pediatrics at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans are recruiting a cardiac intensivist to join a team based in the Cardiac ICU and Heart Center at Manning Family Children’s. Responsibilities
Attend to the care of critically ill pediatric and adult congenital cardiac medical and surgical patients in the cardiac ICU, collaborating with pediatric cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, CICU-based advanced practice providers, and other specialists. Provide clinical service time commensurate with the needs of the Division and intensive care unit, including in-house night coverage. Teach physician trainees at all levels (including medical students), advanced practice providers, nurses, and other unit-based staff. Participate in university and hospital-driven training and educational activities, including quality improvement and care process improvement initiatives. Pursue basic science or clinical research interests where possible, with opportunities to obtain outside grant funding wherever possible. Qualifications
MD or DO degree (or equivalent) and Louisiana medical license prior to start date. Board eligible/-certified as outlined: Dual boarded/eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine AND Pediatric Cardiology; OR Board certified/eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine with significant cardiac critical care experience; OR board certified/eligible in Pediatric Cardiology with formal advanced training in Cardiac Intensive Care Medicine (minimum 12 months). Licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana and credentialed with all required entities before hire date. Preferred Qualifications
