About The Role
The Vice President (VP) of Construction is a key senior team member responsible for leading the full lifecycle of construction efforts across our national data center portfolio, with a strategic focus on safety, efficiency, operational resilience, and speed-to-market. This role oversees all aspects of Construction including: construction operations, contractor management, quality control, safety and performance against budget for all new builds and infrastructure upgrades. The ideal candidate brings proven leadership in mission-critical data center environments, especially those involving on-site power infrastructure, renewable integration, and sustainability targets. This role requires an anticipated 50% travel. This position is located in Denver, CO with remote work arrangements. What You\'ll Do
Strategic leadership and collaboration across a wide range of functions Develop and execute the company’s construction strategy to support the expansion of high-density, energy-optimized data centers Responsible for building and managing a team of internal construction project managers along with general contractors and other 3rd party trades people that will deliver data center projects according to our scope/schedule/budget Direct day-to-day construction operations, including permitting, contractor mobilization, field safety, inspections, and closeout. Oversee contractor and subcontractor performance, holding teams accountable to contractual obligations, KPIs, and service standards. Interface with local municipalities, utilities, and regulators to support permitting, code compliance, and environmental goals. Provide executive-level updates to leadership and stakeholders on project milestones, risks, and mitigations. Develop and manage individual construction project budgets ranging from $1M to $500M+, ensuring accurate forecasting, contingency planning, and cost control. Lead contractor negotiations and enforce consistent contracting standards that reduce risk and ensure quality outcomes. Identify and mitigate construction-related risks, including labor availability, material lead times, and environmental compliance. Tasks/Projects as requested from time to time. Qualifications
15+ years of progressive construction leadership experience, including large-scale data center projects 7+ years in a senior leadership role managing construction portfolios >$100M annually. Proven expertise with mission-critical facilities, complex MEP systems, and/or hyperscale energy systems. Strong knowledge of construction law, permitting, code, and environmental compliance requirements. High degree of integrity, professionalism and commitment to ethical business practices.
