Description of Work Unit

The Hub for Student Services is a department within the Division of Enrollment & Access, along with the Office of Admissions, the Office of Financial Aid, and the Office of the Registrar. The Hub provides students with one location for integrated support for housing and dining services, student records, registration, financial aid, billing, payments, and tuition classification. The Hub staff are cross-trained and provide holistic, student-centered support across this broad set of enrollment services via phone, email, and in person. The function of The Hub for Student Services is focused on student-centered customer service. Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Director for Operations, The Hub Counselor’s primary role is to communicate with students, parents, caregivers, and educational personnel in and outside of the University regarding financial aid, student billing, student employment, tuition classification/residency, student records, course registration, and on-campus housing and dining services. Success requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, flexibility, and strong critical thinking skills. Counselors must demonstrate strong customer service skills including efficiency, accuracy, organization, and tact. The position also works with the supervisor on outreach and communication efforts, including participating in outreach events on and off-campus. This full-time position is based on the CSU Fort Collins campus and offers a hybrid work model, with a mix of remote and in-office work. In accordance with federal regulatory requirements, all finalists must be in good standing on any outstanding Federal Title IV student loans and cannot have a repayment due for a Title IV grant. If hired, fingerprints will be submitted to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Required Job Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree and at least one year of professional work experience providing counseling and/or assistance in a customer service environment. Similar experience as a student employee may be considered. Strong written communications skills, as demonstrated by submitted application materials, and the ability to interpret and explain information. Must be highly motivated, focused, and results oriented. Experience providing excellent customer service by relaying information accurately and in a courteous, concise and approachable manner. Ability to use judgment, discretion, and decision-making skills in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues. Preferred Job Qualifications

Work experience in one or more functional areas of an integrated student services office, e.g., Office of Financial Aid, Student Billing, Housing and Dining Services, or the Office of the Registrar. Proficiency in multiple languages such as Spanish and American Sign Language. Knowledge of Colorado State University policies and procedures. Experience with systems such as Ellucian Banner, WaitWell, Mitel, Helpspot or Ivy.ai. The Hub counselors will counsel students, parents, caregivers, and educational personnel in and outside of the University regarding financial aid, student billing, student employment, student records, course registration, and on-campus housing and dining services. Counseling will occur via in-person, email, and phone modalities. The Hub counselors will also serve as a student service resource for general university information, providing appropriate referrals for campus resources beyond The Hub services. Percentage Of Time

The Hub Counselors will adhere to a structured training schedule designed to enhance cultural competence, student readiness, and inclusivity. The training program emphasizes continuous learning to ensure counselors are well-versed in all services offered by The Hub and partner offices. The Hub Counselors must stay up to date with relevant departmental, institutional, state, and federal policies and procedures. Percentage Of Time

25% Job Duty Category: Cross-departmental collaboration and partnerships

Collaborate with staff from partner offices (Office of Financial Aid, Office of the Registrar, Housing and Dining Services) and beyond to ensure a seamless student experience. Communicate with these teams to share insights, seek clarification on processes, and address Tier 3 escalations. Percentage Of Time

Provide timely and accurate information about student accounts and records to students, initiating outreach to prospective and current students, and addressing concerns. Guide students on outstanding action items and deadlines to support academic success. Maintain proactive outreach strategies to inform students of resources and opportunities for success. Demonstrate excellent communication, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to student support. Percentage Of Time
