As a senior member of the geology team, you’ll be instrumental in driving the success of open-pit operations. You’ll bring technical expertise, leadership, and strategic insight to optimise resource extraction and support mine planning.
Duties will include:
Develop and update geological models, perform resource estimation, and integrate data into mine planning software for pit optimisation.
Oversee grade control processes, assess ore and waste boundaries, and coordinate with mining teams to minimise dilution and improve ore recovery.
Reconcile geological data, perform quality checks, and prepare clear reports to ensure consistency across models and datasets.
Provide geological input to short- and long-term mine planning, working closely with the engineering team to optimise pit layouts.
Lead and mentor a team of geologists, promote a collaborative culture, and ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.
Collaborate with mine operations, safety, engineering, and environmental teams to resolve geological challenges.
Prepare technical reports, maintain accurate geological records, and participate in audits and feasibility studies.
What You Bring
Demonstrated history of success in open-pit mining geology, with significant hands‑on experience in grade control, resource estimation, and mine planning.
Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field.
Proficiency in geological modelling software (e.g., Vulcan, Datamine, Leapfrog).
Strong knowledge of geological mapping, systems and processes
Proven experience with RC Grade control management and design.
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities
