About Forest Springs Forest Springs is a year-round Christian camp and retreat center located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. Our mission is to create life-changing experiences where people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. As part of a family of four ministry sites across two states, Forest Springs provides spaces for rest, renewal, and training in a Christ-centered community.

Position Summary The Maintenance Director provides leadership and oversight for the entire maintenance ministry of Cedar Bay. This role ensures that all facilities, vehicles, grounds, and systems are well-maintained, safe, and ready to serve guests year-round. The Maintenance Director supervises staff and volunteers, manages projects and budgets, and models a servant-hearted, Christ-centered approach to leadership and teamwork.

This position is located in Cedarville, MI

Key Responsibilities Spiritual Leadership

Model a growing relationship with Jesus Christ in all words and actions.

Support and share Forest Springs’ Statement of Faith and abide by the Code of Conduct.

Encourage and disciple staff spiritually; participate in prayer meetings and local church involvement.

Leadership & Supervision

Provide direction and supervision for all maintenance staff and volunteers.

Conduct annual written evaluations and regular check-ins with maintenance team members.

Create a positive, Christ-like work atmosphere that values teamwork, cleanliness, and stewardship.

Facility & Grounds Oversight

Lead the overall maintenance and operation of all camp facilities, equipment, and utilities.

Plan and prioritize preventative maintenance, repairs, and long-term improvements.

Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Ensure high standards of safety, cleanliness, and functionality across all maintenance areas and shops.

Oversee care of vehicles, trailers, and buildings—including insurance, licenses, and records.

Project Management & Planning

Oversee major facility projects, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades.

Work closely with the Executive Director on long-range planning and capital projects.

Develop and manage maintenance budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships.

Coordinate forest management, conservation, waste removal, and recycling programs.

Keep current utility and site maps up to date in cooperation with the Building Maintenance Manager.

Collaboration

Maintain close working relationships with all departments to support ministry programs.

Coordinate with the Volunteer Coordinator to utilize skilled volunteers effectively.

Serve as an instructor in the Leadership Training & Development (LTD) program as requested.

Assist in other departments such as Health & Safety or First Aid when needed.

Qualifications

A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a heart for ministry and service.

Alignment with Forest Springs’ Statement of Faith and mission.

Demonstrated experience in facilities management, maintenance, or construction leadership.

Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

Working knowledge of core facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, wastewater, alarms, etc.).

Ability to manage budgets, lead staff and volunteers, and plan long-term projects.

Willingness to work hands-on alongside the maintenance team as needed.
