Chartwell Golf and Country Club is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head Golf Course Superintendent to lead our agronomy team. We are a premier private, family-oriented country club committed to upholding exceptional golf course grooming standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the maintenance of the golf course, practice areas, clubhouse, and tennis court surrounds.

Lead, train, and manage a team of twenty staff members, including two Assistant Superintendents, Mechanic, and Grounds Crew Laborers.

Manage department expenses within the annual budget.

Maintain and operate a Toro Golf Course Irrigation system and pump house station.

Provide timely and accurate reports on golf course conditions to the General Manager, Committee, and Board of Directors.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and laws.

Manage and maintain all golf course maintenance equipment.

Stay current with agronomic information and industry trends.

Maintain proper reporting, record-keeping, mixing, calibration, and application of all chemicals and fertilizers.

Ensure staff receive proper training and licenses for safe and efficient job performance.

Implement preventative agronomic measures.

Foster a positive working environment that promotes teamwork, communication, and ethical behavior.

Supervise daily task planning to meet grooming standards.

Incorporate safe work practices.

Mentor the Assistant Superintendents for future career advancement.

Oversee annual upkeep of the on-site Chartwell dam, including emergency action plans and inspections.

Provide a list of annual capital requests for review and consideration.

Assist in golf course capital projects including an upcoming multi-million dollar Irrigation System replacement.

Qualifications:

Minimum of five years of experience as a Head Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent at a high-end private club.

Experience with both warm and cool season grasses is highly desired.

We are looking for a leader who is passionate about golf course management and dedicated to exceeding expectations. Class A Member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America either with or working towards certifications for CGCS and CTEM.
