What You'll Do:
- Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on small, thin-gauge aluminum and stainless steel components to aerospace specifications.
- Follow detailed blueprints, work instructions, and weld symbols with a high level of accuracy.
- Set up and adjust welding equipment, tools, and fixtures to ensure consistent weld quality.
- Inspect completed welds using visual and non-destructive testing methods (per AWS D17.1 standards).
- Maintain clean weld joints and proper heat control to avoid distortion or contamination.
- Complete and document weld logs, inspection reports, and process records as required.
- Collaborate with engineers, inspectors, and production teams to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a TIG/GTAW welder in an aerospace, precision manufacturing, or similar high-spec industry.
- Certification to AWS D17.1 (Fusion Welding for Aerospace Applications) - required or ability to obtain prior to start.
- Proficiency welding aluminum and stainless steel (thin-gauge).
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of quality assurance practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and weld symbols.
- Experience working in or with NADCAP-accredited facilities preferred.
- Must pass weld test and visual inspection prior to hire.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with micro-TIG or orbital welding for small assemblies.
- Prior work under aerospace primes or defense contractors.
- Familiarity with cleanroom or FOD (Foreign Object Debris) control environments.
