Legal Talent Acquisition Coordinator

The Legal Talent Acquisition Coordinator will be responsible for the administrative coordination and implementation of judicial clerkship recruitment, lateral associate/counsel/professional track attorney recruitment, patent agent/technical specialist recruitment, immigration documentation and onboarding processes. This position will provide support to law student hiring and the summer associate program as needed. The position will be located in our San Francisco, Chicago, or Los Angeles office.
Responsibilities
Post job descriptions on internal and external recruitment sites.
Process candidate applications, update candidate tracking database, and maintain complete candidate files.
Schedule candidate interviews, arrange logistics, and coordinate a seamless candidate experience.
Prepare interview materials, organize supplemental recruitment activities, and manage candidate packets for Review Committee consideration.
Prepare correspondence including interview confirmations, offer letters, status updates, rejections, and internal communications.
Summer Associate Program
Serve as point of contact for summer associates and attend social events organized for them.
Onboarding
Coordinate conflicts and background check processes for new hires.
Manage data entry within the onboarding system to ensure accurate processing prior to arrival.
Facilitate pre‑arrival and post‑arrival onboarding processes, organize orientation schedules, and process I‑9 paperwork through the online onboarding system.
Order and coordinate welcome packages for new hires.
Support in‑person orientation activities for associate, counsel, and summer associate hires in their office.
Candidate Engagement and Sourcing
Assist in developing talent pipelines, alternative strategic recruitment methods, and firm‑wide processes to effectively and efficiently fill positions with top‑rate talent.
Coordinate outreach events and programs for judicial clerks in partnership with the Legal Talent Acquisition team members, firm affinity groups, practice groups, law schools, student groups, and other stakeholders.
Track participation of lawyers and talent prospects in engagement activities and gather feedback.
General Duties
Prepare and update recruitment data reports, maintain the Legal Talent Acquisition calendar, respond to surveys, and update recruitment content on the firm intranet site, LinkedIn page, external website, and related marketing materials.
Coordinate and support department budget administration, including credit card reconciliation, invoice processing, reimbursements, and expense tracking.
Stay current on legal industry recruitment best practices, trends, and news; be an active member of local legal recruitment organization and NALP.
Attend all Legal Talent Acquisition Department and related talent team meetings.
Create and maintain positive relationships with personnel in professional services departments, including Human Resources, Accounting/Finance, Professional Development, Diversity & Inclusion, Operations, Technology, Research Services, and Legal Support.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum two (2) years of directly related recruiting experience in a law firm environment.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; equivalent training and experience may substitute for education.
Must be able to work occasional extended hours during busy periods, attend evening events, and travel when needed.
Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail.
Ability to represent the firm with honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships among lawyers and staff.
Proficient in MS Suite to produce quality written communications.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with attorneys, staff, vendors, and the public.
Ability to handle highly sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
Salary range for this position in San Francisco is $73,000-$95,000.
