Program Overview We are actively advancing the safety, efficiency, and modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS) through the FAA’s Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) contract. As a trusted partner to the Federal Aviation Administration, we help deliver the systems and services that keep our nation’s skies safe and connected.
Role We seek an innovative Enterprise & Solutions Architect to lead the design and integration of enterprise and solution‑level architectures in support of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Your work will directly impact millions of passengers and aviation professionals who rely on safe, efficient airspace operations every day.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain enterprise and solution architecture roadmaps aligned with FAA mission goals.
Translate business and stakeholder requirements into technical design and architectural solutions.
Ensure alignment of architectures with FAA standards, federal IT frameworks, and modernization priorities.
Lead the integration of cloud, data, application, and infrastructure solutions across FAA programs.
Provide technical oversight for system interoperability, scalability, and resiliency.
Collaborate with program managers, engineers, and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure, compliant solutions.
Develop and enforce architectural standards, guidelines, and governance processes.
Conduct trade studies, impact analyses, and feasibility assessments for FAA modernization efforts.
Oversee solution implementation, ensuring designs are executed correctly by vendors and subcontractors.
Experience leading multi‑disciplinary technical teams and coordinating across stakeholders.
Prepare audit‑ready architectural documentation and system design packages.
Align business requirements with technical solutions, enterprise frameworks, and modernization strategies to ensure scalability, security, and interoperability across FAA systems.
Provide strategic and technical leadership to programs advancing the NAS while ensuring compliance with FAA standards and federal frameworks.
Basic Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience or Master’s degree with 6 years or Associate’s degree with 10 years or HS diploma/equivalent with 12 years of experience.
Experience in enterprise and solution architecture roles.
Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks.
Proven experience designing solutions across infrastructure, applications, data, and cloud platforms.
Understanding of federal IT standards, NIST frameworks, and security compliance requirements.
Knowledge of Zero Trust architectures, cybersecurity alignment, and resiliency frameworks.
Experience working with hybrid and cloud‑based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting FAA NextGen modernization programs or NAS‑related initiatives.
Experience supporting federal agencies, preferably FAA, DOT, DHS, or DoD.
Familiarity with FAA acquisition processes and AMS standards.
Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Architect Expert, or CSEP.
Familiarity with aviation operations, communications, or safety‑critical system architectures.
Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000.
