About Refactor Games Refactor Games is a AAA sports video game studio developing the next generation of professional football (soccer) video games using Unreal Engine 5.

You’ll Work On:

Managing and mentoring a multidisciplinary art team across character, environment, animation, and tech art.

Partnering with outsourcing studios to deliver high-quality, on-style assets efficiently and on schedule.

Reviewing assets for quality, consistency, and technical integration, providing clear and actionable feedback.

Collaborating with Art Direction, Production, and Tech Art to define pipelines, tools, and documentation that streamline workflows.

Identifying gaps and scaling team capabilities through staffing, outsourcing, and process improvements.

Driving visual alignment across all art disciplines to ensure a cohesive look and feel that meets the game’s fidelity and performance targets.

Partnering closely with leadership to forecast art needs, plan milestones, and maintain production visibility across multiple disciplines.

Requirements:

7+ years of game art production experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or management role.

Deep understanding of Unreal Engine 5 art pipelines, workflows, and performance considerations.

Knowledge of ShotGrid.

Proven track record managing internal and external art production across multiple disciplines.

Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and inspire artists.

Experience maintaining visual quality across a large-scale game through consistent reviews and feedback.

Highly organized and proactive, with experience balancing creative goals, technical constraints, and production timelines.

Portfolio or project examples demonstrating high-quality, real-time art on shipped console or PC titles.

Bonus Points:

Experience shipping sports, racing, or broadcast-style games.

Background working with global outsourcing studios and multi-language pipelines.

Familiarity with scalable production systems and vendor management tools.

Passion for football and deep appreciation for visual storytelling in sports media.

Experience helping grow a studio or build an art department from the ground up.
