Hubble Network
Senior Digital Design Engineer
– Join
Hubble Network
in Seattle, WA to build the first billion‑endpoint satellite‑connected IoT network. Hubble is a venture‑backed startup creating a global Bluetooth® Low Energy satellite constellation.
Role Overview As a Senior Digital Design Engineer, you will design the FPGA module that localizes and decodes ground‑station Bluetooth® packets. You will work closely with system, hardware, and software teams to optimize throughput, accuracy, power, and reliability of the satellite constellation.
Ideal Candidate
A Sense of Urgency – Lead projects from concept to reality rapidly and effectively.
First Principles Engineering – Extrapolate complex system design from fundamental principles.
High Learning Agility – Continuously sharpen engineering foundations and collaborate across backgrounds.
System‑Level Design and Analysis – Quickly iterate on evolving requirements.
Excellent Communication – Convey technical ideas to engineers, build, and operations.
Anticipation of Needs – Identify problems, think creatively, and produce reliable, cost‑effective solutions.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
5+ years FPGA‑based digital design experience with real‑time signal processing and communications.
Expertise in RTL design (Verilog/SystemVerilog) for high‑throughput, low‑latency receivers.
Experience with DDR memory interfaces, high‑speed serial links (LVDS, JESD204, PCIe, Ethernet).
Proficiency in FPGA synthesis, timing closure, and resource optimization on Xilinx/Intel platforms.
Simulation/verification skills (ModelSim, Questa, Vivado, VUnit) and scripting (Python, Tcl).
DSP fundamentals – filtering, correlation, decimation, fixed‑point.
Packet decoder experience for BLE, ZigBee, LoRa, or custom PHYs.
Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
Passion for creating state‑of‑the‑art hardware systems.
Strongly Desired
Distributed DSP across multiple FPGAs or compute nodes.
Processor integration (ARM) and peripheral interfacing (SPI, I2C, AXI).
Embedded Linux (Petalinux) experience.
Synchronization techniques (preamble detection, symbol timing, frequency offset).
Lab tool proficiency – oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, RF test equipment.
Low‑power design for space or constrained systems.
BLE physical layer knowledge or similar short‑range RF standards.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $150,000 – $180,000 per year (commensurate with experience).
Health, Dental, Vision, and HSA options.
Unlimited PTO.
Paid parental leave.
Commuter benefits (HQ work).
Learning & development allowance.
Health & wellness stipend.
Sabbatical program after five years.
Cutting‑edge space tech work.
Team retreats, swag, and more.
ITAR Requirements Hubble is required by the U.S. Government to comply with ITAR. All applicants must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
Equal Opportunity Hubble is committed to a diverse environment and is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants receive consideration regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
