Job Summary Senior attorney will be a team member in a fast‑paced transactional and program administration practice representing the agency in complex financial lending, as well as assisting with programmatic design, legal administration, and programmatic compliance.

Responsibilities

Knowledge of state and federal housing programs and be familiar with statutes and regulations affecting the programs and be capable of applying those laws and rules when negotiating and drafting agreements and legal documents for multiple program areas of capital development, community renewal, public works, emergency response and housing preservation.

Manage a portfolio of programs to assist with compliance, background checks, monitoring, investigations into fraud and waste and other programmatic requirements.

Complete assignments related to financing, transfer, and regulation of real property across NYS.

Assist program staff to develop and implement enforcement policy, subrecipient agreements, contractor contracts and loan documents and other agreements or contracts as necessary for the agency units being served.

Other tasks may be assigned, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Admission to the New York State Bar and two years of experience in the practice of law subsequent to admission to the Bar.

Additional skills and experience beneficial include experience with public policy, administration, real estate, finance, procurement, and/or litigation and appeals.
