Director of Individual Giving and Strategy
The Director of Individual Giving and Strategy is a key leader in advancing Good Shepherd Services’ mission through the development and execution of a comprehensive individual giving program. The Director will set the vision for the individual giving program, aligning it with organizational priorities and long‑term growth. The Director works closely with the Chief Development Officer and development team to grow an individual giving program that raises $2.5 million annually (subject to annual increase). Reports to:

$121,000 - $134,000 Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy & Execution
Develop, draft and execute a comprehensive annual fundraising strategy for individual donors aligned with broader fundraising and organizational goals. Identify opportunities to grow the existing donor portfolio, including strategy, tactics and metrics for success; includes identifying and qualifying new donors to expand the base of support. Lead execution of annual individual fundraising efforts, including direct mail, digital campaigns, donor segmentation, stewardship plans and donor communications. Prepare organizational leaders for donor engagement and solicitations. Manage a portfolio of individual donors and prospects, focusing on cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of gifts. Formalize and further develop a comprehensive planned giving program. Use data analytics to assess donor engagement and campaign performance and adjust strategies accordingly. Prepare and draft reports for senior leadership and the Board to track progress and inform decision‑making. Donor Engagement & Stewardship
Design and implement personalized donor engagement plans, including cultivation events and stewardship activities to ultimately secure the gift. Develop and draft compelling written and visual materials to communicate impact and inspire giving. Leadership & Collaboration
Supervise and mentor staff responsible for building the individual giving pipeline. Collaborate with Development Division staff to integrate individual giving into broader development efforts. Be a visible and engaged organizational leader beyond the Development Division to build trust and relationships across the agency. Lead and manage Good Shepherd Services Junior Board. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. 5+ years of progressive fundraising experience, with a strong emphasis on individual and major giving, including experience developing relationships, designing, and executing fundraising and high‑touch stewardship strategies for individual donors achieving results in a complex, mission‑driven organization. Experience leading annual giving, mid‑level, and major donor programs. Exceptional and persuasive writing skills required. Strong people skills with intellectual depth, entrepreneurial drive, maturity, self‑confidence and warmth to build and maintain relationships with people at all levels of the agency across a diverse range of backgrounds. Experience supervising, coaching, and training staff emphasized. Self‑motivated with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Compelling, engaging, and excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong project management skills. Proficiency with fundraising and database systems such as Salesforce; strong Microsoft Office Suite skills. Brings a sense of humor, humility, and warmth to team interactions. Must have a commitment to work from a strength‑based and/or youth development perspective.
