Responsibilities
Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
Assist in the development of project specifications.
Responsible for development of discipline‑specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.
Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.
Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.
Works closely with other disciplines and on multi‑discipline projects.
Performs quality control reviews of discipline‑specific engineering project elements/deliverables.
Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience.
Master’s degree in Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience.
PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience.

Independently progresses the majority of designs and tasks required of the discipline.
Exhibiting experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
Exhibiting a thorough understanding of the application related to engineering, geometric and algebraic principles.
Managing time, proactively forecasting, and communicating project development needs.
Conduct advanced traffic operations analyses using tools such as PTV VISSIM, Synchro, and HCS, including model calibration, validation, and performance evaluation for complex roadway networks.
Design, optimize, and implement traffic signal timing plans and phasing strategies to enhance corridor efficiency, reduce congestion, and improve multimodal safety.
Perform data‑driven evaluations utilizing statistical and analytical methods to interpret traffic counts, travel time data, crash data, and turning movement volumes for project decision‑making.
Lead the preparation of traffic management plans (TMPs), maintenance and protection of traffic (MPT) strategies, and detour analyses to ensure safe and efficient work zone operations.
Develop and refine microsimulation and capacity analysis models to support alternatives analysis, intersection design, and corridor studies.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams—including planning, design, and construction—to integrate traffic engineering solutions within broader transportation projects.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation summarizing methodologies, findings, and recommendations for agency and client review.
Mentor junior staff by providing technical guidance in modeling workflows, QA/QC procedures, and data management best practices.
Preferred Credentials
Master’s degree in Engineering.
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification (depending on discipline).
