The Dallas YMCA is currently seeking a Rotating Aquatics Director. This role will implement and deliver YMCA Aquatics at small and large branches, train and supervise all staff and volunteers, learn all Association policies and procedures, and fill in as needed when a branch Aquatics Director position becomes vacant.

Responsibilities

Will be assigned to train and shadow with a large branch to learn aquatics operations.

Will be assigned to train and shadow with a small branch to learn aquatics operations.

Support branches with events and training.

Will be required to fill in as acting Aquatics Director when a position becomes vacant and may be placed permanently in that position.

Support branches when they are short Aquatics Coordinators under the direction of the branch Aquatics Director.

Will support and assist with Association events such as Swimposiums, swim meets, Lonestar and other Association aquatic functions.

Broad knowledge of swim lesson program development, management and water safety education delivery.

Ability to seek out and participate in networking opportunities to increase program visibility and community awareness.

Have exemplary customer service skills to communicate with all community participants and partners.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with other individuals and agencies.

Ability and desire to work in an outdoor environment which may include inclement weather.

A passion for service, quality, and the pursuit of excellence are a must.

Current lifeguard and swim lesson certifications from a nationally recognized organization. (Will be required to obtain within 60 days).

While at assigned branches, performs needs assessments and identifies relevant drivers of branch program performance.

In collaboration with branch leadership, quickly identifies, validates and communicates plans for transitional support and continuous improvement to facilitate program effectiveness and change management.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a cooperative spirit, committed to character development with staff, and demonstrate the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in dealing with staff, lay leaders, YMCA members, program participants and the general public.

This candidate should have strong communication skills; verbal and written.

The director should be able to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, members and program participants.

The Rotating Aquatics Director should have a strong working knowledge of the rules and fundamentals for assuring a safe aquatics environment and delivering impactful high quality aquatics programing.

The Rotating Aquatics Director must possess a current driver's license with acceptable record and vehicle liability insurance.

Must complete a YMCA lifeguard competency swim or hold a current lifeguard certification.

The Rotating Aquatics director must have attained a Bachelors Degree or have a minimum of 5 years aquatics leadership experience.
