Structural and Thermal Senior Analysis Engineer
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team to lead thermal‑structural FEA analysis activities for hypersonic propulsion hardware design, covering both ground and flight applications. Lead design reviews, compile technical reports, and communicate results to the team.
Responsibilities
Apply engineering principles to thermal‑structural analysis tasks, incorporating appropriate boundary conditions and constraints.
Perform lifetime/cycle analysis, reliability assessment, and elastic‑plastic analysis.
Conduct analysis of prototype components and subsystems for rapid development of hypersonic propulsion systems.
Assist in developing thermal‑structural systems from proof‑of‑concept to manufacturable component.
Document and communicate assumptions, inputs, and analysis results to multidisciplinary teams for review.
Prepare presentations and slides to communicate ideas and progress on projects.
Work well with Integrated Product Teams to perform and lead thermal‑structural analyses, providing informed recommendations that meet program objectives and requirements.
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.
10+ years of structural analysis experience with expertise in FEA.
Proficient with ANSYS for thermal‑structural analysis.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and ability to apply them to technical tasks.
Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
DoD Security Clearance required.
Ability to travel 10%.
Proof of status required.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in the high‑speed aerospace propulsion industry.
Understanding of compressible flow, structures, heat transfer, and high‑temperature materials.
Prior experience with ABACUS.
Willing to mentor staff in thermal‑structural analysis/methods.
Analytical, problem‑solving mindset with critical thinking and humility.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Leadership ability and decision‑making capability.
Ability to mentor other team members.
Security Clearance DoD Security Clearance required.
Salary and Benefits Base pay $170,500 – $227,400.
Annual discretionary bonus based on percentage of base salary.
