Job Description Summary At GE Aerospace we invent the future of flight. The Hypersonics Center of Excellence tackles high‑speed air‑breathing propulsion through multidisciplinary teams, delivering innovative technologies.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of advanced hypersonic propulsion systems, executing technical objectives to deliver program requirements.

Apply knowledge of high‑speed propulsion, fluid dynamics, and aero‑thermal mechanical systems to make informed decisions supporting an integrated prototype for ground and/or flight testing.

Generate complete mechanical designs using 3‑D CAD of prototype systems.

Perform thermal‑structural analysis with ANSYS and fluid‑mechanical analyses of fuel and other flow systems to support testing goals.

Support the fulfillment of technical milestones, meeting program schedule and delivering test articles on time.

Ensure quality and safety standards are addressed and exceeded.

Support a company process that ensures adherence to standard design practices for engine development.

Support engine testing activities through pre‑test analysis, engine design, performance predictions, and post‑test data reduction.

Required Qualifications

Use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions; only U.S. Citizens allowed.

Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in related Propulsion/Missile/Prototype Development and flight test articles.

Hands‑on person with tactical, strategic, and people skills; comfortable performing required analyses and mentoring junior engineers.

Strong understanding of engineering principles and ability to investigate, model, and provide critical insight into complex physical flow phenomena.

Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.

Willing to work out of an office located in Bohemia, NY or Rockledge, FL.

Desired Characteristics

Master's degree preferred.

Experience with experimental setups and equipment in a hands‑on environment.

Skilled in CFD, preferably with Pointwise, iCFD++, and Tecplot.

Pay Base salary range: $126,700 – $168,900 USD annually. Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary.
