Location: Dahlgren, VA | Salary: $130k–$150k (Depending on experience)

Role Overview Senior Systems Engineer (Network) to maintain multiple computing environments by identifying network requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring network performance; and managing network configuration consistency. The work involves engineering, design, and implementation solutions for multiple network architectures.
Essential / Required Skills
Layer 1 expertise (SFPs, media converters, cat5/6/6e, fiber types, connector types)
Understanding MAC addresses, IP address, subnetting, ARP table
dot1x configuration at the switch level, understanding of ISE policies/groups
Spanning tree, VLANs, VTP
OSPF, BGP, HSRP, ACL, VRF
Some level of automation (Cisco Prime, Cisco Catalyst Center (CCENT)/DNA Center, SolarWinds, etc.)
WLC and WAP management (3g/5g) (Aruba or Cisco preferred)
SD-ACCESS
ACI experience
Understanding of network architecture (Core, Distro, Access)
Reading/Understanding logs
SPLUNK experience
Understanding of STIGs/Compliance
SD-WAN
Desired Additional Skills
Automation scripting development
Backend experience with DNA/CCENT
Wireshark experience
TACLANE experience
SNA – Cisco Secure Analytics
Required Certifications and Qualifications
Cisco CCNA or CCNP (If CCNA, commitment to achieve CCNP within 9-12 months)
CompTIA Security+
TACLANE certification from General Dynamics is desired
Minimum of 6 Years experience in Network Administration or Network Engineering
Top Secret Clearance, or Interim TS with final secret (T5). TS/SCI Preferred for future requirements
Responsibilities
Implement local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, & other data networks
Maintain network availability in multiple networking environments by administering Cisco campus based switching environments with fiber-based and copper-based Ethernet connectivity (1gig and 10gig)
Install, manage, and maintain Cisco switching components to support campus, wan, and distributed core architectures. Works with Cisco chassis based systems, internet circuit termination equipment, and advanced Cisco management tools
Manage Cisco Prime Infrastructure and analyze network health, workflow, access, information, and security requirements; performing router/switch administration, interface configuration, and switching protocols
Experience with network routers and switches, and strong Cisco switch and router configuration experience
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, 802.1x, ACLs, ARP, RADIUS, IPv6, DHCP, Intrusion Prevention, Authentication, and ISP circuit connections
Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and system performance
Perform network modeling and analysis
Define diagrams and designs for business technology initiatives
Enforce policies for standardizing systems
Maintain and monitor core backbone network services in multiple computing environments by identifying network connectivity requirements; performing network upgrades; monitoring network devices and logs; managing wired network connections, and managing network backbone infrastructure
