Up to 10% LaunchTech is seeking a Linux System Administrator Functional Lead to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining Linux-based systems while leading a team of administrators to ensure operational readiness and compliance. You will oversee container platforms, system hardening, and cybersecurity integration while mentoring staff to deliver excellence in mission-critical environments. What You’ll Do

Design, implement, troubleshoot, and sustain Linux-based physical and virtual machines for the Missile Defense Space Center Administer container platforms such as OpenShift, Docker, and Podman, as well as maintain multiple repositories and registries Oversee and perform the hardening of operating systems and ensure STIG compliance Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, infrastructure, and application teams to maintain system administration and compliance practices Manage and delegate tasking derived from project, sustainment, and break/fix activities Mentor a team responsible for installations, maintenance, break/fix support, and cybersecurity mitigations in accordance with policies, procedures, and service level agreements Develop and maintain system administration procedures and baseline configuration documentation Focus on creating, upgrading, managing, and sustaining physical and virtual workstations What You Bring

Must have 5 or more years of directly related experience to UNIX and/or Linux systems administration Must have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a computing environment Linux certification Must have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g. Security+) Must have an active DoD Secret, or higher, Security Clearance Must have a Bachelor’s, or higher, in an IT or any STEM related field Have experience administering a Red Hat Linux environment Why LaunchTech?
