Senior Linux System Administrator The Senior Linux System Administrator reports to the Manager, IT Technical Services and is responsible for the administration, implementation, support and management of the IT infrastructure systems; serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems. This position will also lead on assisting in the effort of managing and supporting the Linux, Storage, Backup and Recovery systems.

Knowledge

Oracle Linux and Red Hat Linux system administration

Enterprise Storage, Enterprise Backups, Security

System performance monitoring tools

Effective project management techniques

OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) expertise

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Skills) Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related discipline or equivalent training and experience.

Experience:

Minimum of 12+ years relevant Systems Administrator (Linux Administrator) experience including complex on-premise Oracle environments, scripting, and systems software and support. Must have experience in the design, planning, and implementation of reliable enterprise level mail systems.

Additional strong experience and/or knowledge of:

Red Hat OpenShift

Patch evaluation and deployment: Oracle OLM, ULN, yum, up2date

Enterprise Storage (Nimble)

Enterprise Backup Software (Veeam)

Enterprise Backup Hardware (Exagrid)

Bash shell scripting

VMware ESXi Server (7.x / 8.x)

Windows Server Technologies

Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs

PowerShell

Security Best Practices

Exposure to but not required:

OCI

Ansible

Fundamentals of DR / BCP methodologies

Fundamentals of CA & PKI management

Networking Technologies
