Location Med Surg-Orthopedics, M4E
Schedule 36 Hours (Days/Nights) w/ Every Other Weekend/Holiday
About the Department 4 East is a 37-bed surgical unit. Populations for this unit include orthopedics, hip fracture, ENT, and OMFS. Staff must demonstrate cultural sensitivity to the needs of all patient populations and diverse staff.
Position Summary As an RN in the Medical Surgical unit, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional patient-centered care, supported by a nursing organization that values excellence.
Job Responsibilities
Deliver nursing care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and education
Communicate with health care team members, patients and families
Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues
Update and manage patient records
Enter and interpret computerized data/information
Follow BMC nursing organization guidelines and policies
Assist leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
Job Requirements
Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in Massachusetts
1+ years RN experience preferred
Certification in basic life support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required in certain units
Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty. Certification required for certain practice areas
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
Basic computer proficiency
Fluency in another language a plus
