Project Engineer II – Overview
CECO Environmental Corporation is a global leader in sustainable solutions for industrial air, water, and energy transition. The Project Engineer II uses engineering knowledge to develop OEM custom products and services, including air pollution control systems, in municipal and industrial markets. Responsibilities
Apply mechanical design principles to develop air handling components and systems. Prepare General Arrangement and detail drawings with high efficiency and accuracy. Maintain documentation (manuals, regulatory, design history file) for new product development stage gate process. Understand metal fabrication processes such as stamping, rolling, cutting, surface treatments, and welding. Plan particle transport and separation for industrial applications (filtration, particle capture). Utilize knowledge of fans, dampers, platforms, cyclones, scrubbers, ducting, filtration, conveying equipment, scalpers, and related control systems. Work with piping system design and air handling system designs. Think innovatively with an ability to generate new concepts that differentiate within the market. Apply excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills. Collaborate as a team player with a bias for action and driving projects to completion. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and execute on time and to budget. Commissioning and troubleshooting installed systems both mechanically and electrically. Have aptitude for hands‑on design challenges and troubleshooting equipment. Maintain technical competency and stay current in technology and industry changes. Train plant operations, maintenance and instrumentation staff to independently take ownership of supplied systems. Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. 8+ years of design drafting experience. Proficiency in Inventor, SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software. Experience with air and/or water pollution control system design. Experience and understanding of metal fabrication (stamping, rolling, cutting, surface treatments, and welding). MS Office Suite proficiency. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with piping system design. Structural design experience. Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC). Travel Requirements
Travel across borders; total travel
Valid driver’s license required. Physical Demands & ADA
Standard manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, moving equipment and other industrial conditions. The role may be remote; requires a dedicated workspace with reliable internet and a quiet environment. Physical demands include standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, 20 pounds continuously, and repetitive motions. The work requires concentrated mental and visual attention and compliance with company attendance standards. Benefits
