The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of industrial air pollution control projects from planning through completion, delivering on time, within scope and on budget while maintaining TANN’s high standards for quality, service and safety. Key Deliverables (Essential Responsibilities)
Manage all project phases from initiation to completion. Coordinate internal partners: Designers, Purchasing Agents, Production Manager, Controls Engineer and Field Service Manager. Maintain project costs within the budget. Establish and maintain the project schedule and communicate with customers, vendors and subcontractors. Conduct engineering calculations for key components. Work with Purchasing to complete Purchase Requisitions and Bill of Materials. Attend all scheduled Production Meetings. Lead the design drawing completion process. Monitor fabrications for correctness, schedule and quality. Provide excellent service and communication to customers. Review and approve purchase orders and invoices. Organize requirements for installation and commissioning of TANN equipment, including site supervision as required. Maintain a Low Risk Tolerance and High‑Risk Awareness regarding safety practices and procedures. Demonstrate initiative to take on increased responsibilities given by management. Required – Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical) almost always required. 3‑5 years equivalent experience in industrial manufacturing, engineering, or system design in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. 3–7 years of hands‑on engineering work prior to taking on project management duties. 25%‑30% travel required, domestic and occasional international to Canada and Mexico. At least 2–5 years of experience managing engineering or technical projects. Experience leading cross‑functional teams, coordinating with engineers, designers, contractors, vendors and stakeholders. Proven experience managing budgets and project schedules, tracking deliverables against milestones. Ability to perform essential physical job functions with high attention to detail. Strong mathematics and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of airflow and sheet metal design, oxidizers and heat recovery equipment a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. Understanding safety practices and continually implementing them. Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical engineering or closely related field from a four‑year accredited university, with coursework or project experience relevant to industrial manufacturing or environmental control systems. 3+ years of experience in project management or industrial equipment installation. Physical Demands
Frequent exposure to dust, noise, and smells. Good general health, mental focus, agility, balance and vision. Pulling, pushing, reaching, climbing, kneeling, crawling, significant finger, hand manipulation, and standing for extended amounts of time. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25‑50 pounds and items weighing 50‑75 pounds with assistance. Exposure to heavy steel fabrication, welding, painting and assembly environment. All weather and temperature variations. Other Duties
