Job Description The Division of Facilities Services, Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) seeks an Engineer/Architect 1/2 to help keep Alaska moving.
Salary is based on location; salaries will be discussed at interview.
Location Salaries
Anchorage – Engineer/Architect 1: $3,359.25 biweekly; Engineer/Architect 2: $3,591.75 biweekly
Fairbanks – Engineer/Architect 1: $3,459.75 biweekly; Engineer/Architect 2: $3,699.75 biweekly
Juneau – Engineer/Architect 1: $3,527.25 biweekly; Engineer/Architect 2: $3,771.00 biweekly
Responsibilities The 1/2 manages concurrent public works construction projects from pre‑bid through final records review. Projects range from $0.5M to $25M. The Engineer/Architect 1/2 coordinates technical and non‑technical activities, maintains limited budgets, and engages public involvement.
Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect registration in Alaska.
Current driver’s license.
1 year professional experience as an Engineer/Architect 1 or Engineering Associate; for Engineer/Architect 2 level, 1 year of Engineer/Architect 1 experience.
Core competencies: Civil Engineering, Architecture, Stakeholder Management, Decision Making, Facilities.

Flexibly Staffed This vacancy may be filled at either the Engineer/Architect 1 or Engineer/Architect 2 level, depending on the applicant’s training and experience. Starting salary will be determined by level hired. Promotion to Level 2 occurs after probationary period completion and required training.
