Position Overview We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Executive to lead the early stages of our M&A efforts. This individual will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our firm by managing the entire M&A process from initial contact to contract. You will be responsible for sourcing and engaging with potential acquisition targets, leading the sales process, and ensuring a seamless experience as new firms transition into our organization. Additionally, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining the tools, templates, and content necessary to support this process.
Key Responsibilities Lead Sourcing & Engagement
Identify and source potential M&A targets, both independently and through external sources.
Engage with potential acquisition targets, whether sourced or provided through strategic partnerships, to build and nurture relationships, understanding their business, needs, and goals.
Partner and collaborate with Rise Growth to identify and source potential M&A targets, leveraging their network and expertise to support the firm’s growth strategy.
Sales Process Management
Drive the M&A sales process from initial outreach to contract, ensuring timely and effective communication and follow‑ups.
Conduct due diligence, gather data, assess strategic fit via our FIT and ERA analysis, and lead discussions around letters of intent (LOI).
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, compliance, leadership and finance, to draft, negotiate, and finalize contracts.
Coordinate with the CFO to conduct the valuation as well as identify economic hurdles for the acquisition to achieve.
Achieve a target of $3 billion in acquisitions each year for the next five years, aligning with the firm’s growth objectives.
Reporting & Lead Process Tracking
Provide regular reporting on M&A activities, including lead tracking, pipeline status, and progress updates to company leadership. Ensure accurate documentation and analysis of the sales process to support informed decision‑making.
Transition Planning
Work closely with the operational department to facilitate a smooth transition for acquired firms, acting as a point of escalation and relationship management to ensure all aspects of the integration are planned and executed effectively.
Tool & Content Development
Develop and maintain tools, templates, and content used throughout the M&A process, ensuring they are up‑to‑date and aligned with best practices.
Provide training and support to internal teams on the use of these resources.

Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is a prerequisite. An MBA is preferred.
Proven track record of originating, negotiating, and executing deals throughout the entire M&A lifecycle. This includes identifying potential acquisition targets and executing successful transactions. Strong understanding of the RIA space, including key challenges and opportunities in the industry.
Experience within the RIA, wealth management, or independent advisory industry is critical. This includes familiarity with advisor recruitment, client transition dynamics, and the competitive landscape.
Candidates should have extensive experience leading due diligence processes and developing post‑merger integration strategies to ensure a smooth transition and retention of clients.
The ability to understand complex deal terms, evaluate different transaction structures, and effectively negotiate with selling firm principals is a core competency.
A strong grasp of the legal and regulatory framework for RIAs is necessary to ensure that M&A activities meet all compliance standards, including state and SEC registration requirements.
This role requires the ability to conduct market research and evaluate industry trends to identify potential M&A opportunities and stay ahead of the competition.
