The Earth Commons Academic Postdoctoral Fellowship
Georgetown University’s Institute for Environment and Sustainability (ECo) invites applications for postdoctoral academic fellowships beginning Fall 2026. Fellows will conduct interdisciplinary research on climate change, biodiversity, food and water security, and environmental justice, and will teach one semester of the Earth Commons undergraduate BS‑ES curriculum.

Responsibilities
Develop and carry out an interdisciplinary research program in collaboration with one or more Earth Commons faculty or affiliates.
Teach one semester of undergraduate courses in the BS‑ES curriculum.
Reside at Georgetown University for the duration of the fellowship, except for absences agreed with mentor(s).
Qualifications
Ph.D. in a relevant field (or expected by June 2026).
Proposed research agenda that can be carried out with one or more Earth Commons affiliates.
Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration across multiple departments or schools within Georgetown University.

Cover letter.
Abstract: ≤ 250 words, 12‑pt font, double spaced, including a clear research question or hypothesis and justification for collaboration.
Compensation Salary: $65,000 USD per year, plus a research stipend.
