Laboratory Director
Laboratory Director – Overall responsible for the management of the Laboratory department, ensuring that chemical, microscopic and bacteriologic tests are performed accurately and efficiently, and that the results are reported in a timely manner. Keeps informed of developments in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and supervises Laboratory personnel.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Laboratory department, overseeing all operations and ensuring high quality laboratory services.
Direct the planning and execution of all chemical, microscopic, bacteriologic and other clinical laboratory testing, including compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Monitor laboratory results and quality systems to ensure that all test results are accurate, timely and meet quality and performance goals.
Develop and maintain laboratory policies, procedures and quality management systems.
Provide technical guidance and leadership to laboratory staff and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.
Collaborate with clinical teams, clinical laboratory scientific units, clinical laboratory quality units, laboratory supply units and clinical laboratory scientific units to develop and maintain laboratory initiatives.
Advise clinical, clinical laboratory scientific unit, laboratory supply, clinical laboratory operations, clinical laboratory quality and laboratory operations and laboratory quality management group on laboratory initiatives, including laboratory initiatives and laboratory testing initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or in related field required.
Five (5) to Seven (7) years of clinical experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) required.
Bachelor’s degree in a life science or related field from an accredited College or University required.
Master’s degree in related field from an accredited College or University preferred.
Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License in the State of California required.
Certifications / Licenses Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License in the State of California.
