Position Summary
The Procurement Manager will lead our procurement team and be responsible for the end-to-end purchasing process, from sourcing and contract negotiation to inventory management and supplier relations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach who can identify cost-saving opportunities, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and manage a small team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing procurement, a deep understanding of tooling and raw materials, and a proven track record of successful negotiation. Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for tooling, raw materials, and MRO supplies. Lead all purchase contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms, pricing, and quality standards. Manage supplier relationships and conduct regular performance reviews. Handle purchase order call-offs and ensure timely delivery of materials. Monitor and manage stock levels to optimize inventory turns and prevent shortages or excess. Identify and implement cost-save initiatives without compromising on quality or production timelines. Analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions. Supervise and mentor a small team of procurement specialists or buyers. Foster a collaborative and high-performance environment. Set team goals and conduct performance evaluations. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and streamline processes. Implement and maintain best practices in purchasing and supply chain management. Collaborate with other departments (Production, Engineering, Finance) to ensure alignment and support business goals. Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role. Proven experience in a manufacturing or tooling environment is a must. Demonstrated success in contract negotiation and cost management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent negotiation and communication abilities. Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems. Knowledge of supply chain management principles. Leadership and team management capabilities. Excel proficiency a must, Power BI experience a plus. A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Relevant professional certifications (CPSM, CIPS) are a plus.
