Director of General Services
Join Harris County in Lead Precinct 4 to oversee comprehensive operations of facilities, asset management, security, emergency preparedness, capital planning, and transportation programs.
What You Will Do
Own precinct facilities operations, including preventive maintenance, CMMS management, building systems oversight, custodial and grounds programs, space planning, and vendor performance.
Direct capital projects and compliance programs, maintain inspection calendar, and manage emergency plans.
Serve as liaison to county law enforcement and manage security initiatives.
Manage transportation oversight for senior bus program and analytics reporting.
Implement operational process improvements, budget control, and emergency management participation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Facilities Management, or related field (associate or high‑school equivalent with additional experience acceptable).
Minimum of three (3) years of operations, facilities, or general services management experience; five (5) years minimum for associate/H‑school route; seven (7) years minimum for high‑school route.
Valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record.
Strong written communication and technical writing sample required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams); knowledge of OSHA, FMO, EHS standards preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Leadership experience managing teams and complex projects.
Facilities operations, procurement processes, and administrative services expertise.
Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Experience with CMMS, ServiceNow, and facility systems.
Familiarity with NIMS certifications preferred.
