Equipment Repair & Install Technician
SkyBlue Pool Supply N Service is seeking an experienced and dependable Equipment Repair & Install Technician to join our dynamic field operations team. This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional with a strong background in pool equipment repair, installation, and automation systems.
The Equipment Repair & Install Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining pumps, heaters, filters, control systems, and other pool-related components. This hands‑on position requires mechanical expertise, a strong understanding of pool automation, and a commitment to quality workmanship and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect and troubleshoot swimming pool equipment and systems.
Diagnose and repair pool pumps, filters, heaters, and related components.
Install and maintain automated control systems, chemical automation, and pool lighting.
Program, calibrate, and troubleshoot automation systems (Jandy, Pentair, Hayward, etc.).
Perform plumbing work on equipment pads as needed for installations or repairs.
Test equipment to ensure proper operation and efficiency after servicing.
Recommend upgrades or replacements when repairs are no longer cost‑effective.
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, explaining repair options, timelines, and costs.
Maintain accurate service records, including parts used and work completed.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures while on‑site.
Qualifications
4+ years of hands‑on experience in swimming pool equipment repair and maintenance.
Strong knowledge of pool equipment brands and automation systems.
Proven mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to perform plumbing work on pool equipment pads.
Familiarity with chemical automation systems and safety handling procedures.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Capable of working independently, prioritizing multiple service calls efficiently.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
Comfortable working outdoors and performing physical labor (lifting 50‑75 lbs).
High School Diploma or GED required.
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or related technical certification preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
$35‑45+ per hour, depending on experience and certification level.
