Job Title: Commercial Construction Project Manager Company: ARQ General Contracting Salary: $100,000 – $130,000+ per year (performance-based incentives) Industry: Commercial & Residential Construction / Remodeling Location: Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV region)
Job Overview ARQ General Contracting is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Commercial Construction Project Manager to oversee all aspects of project delivery—from preconstruction planning to project closeout. This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders to deliver best-in-class projects on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership: Plan, coordinate, and manage all phases of assigned projects.
Preconstruction: Participate in estimating, budgeting, and bidding; develop work plans and schedules.
Contract Management: Prepare and administer contracts, change orders, purchase orders, and submittals.
Team Coordination: Collaborate with superintendents, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and clients.
Financial Oversight: Monitor budgets, forecasts, and cost control measures.
Scheduling: Develop and update project schedules.
Quality & Safety: Enforce quality assurance and jobsite safety standards.
Client Relations: Serve as primary point of contact for clients.
Closeout: Oversee punch lists, warranty documentation, and project turnover.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects in the DMV region.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and financial controls.
Proficiency with project management software (Procore, Buildertrend, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Reliable transportation and ability to travel across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
