Assistant/Associate Professor of Biostatistics Education and Research (Full-Time) Benefits

Participate in teaching, service, scholarly activities, and appropriate administrative work at RVUCOM‑SU. Essential Job Functions
Mentor students in project design, research methodology, and bioinformatics. Provide statistical support for various research and scholarly projects. Actively participate in the education and instruction of medical students and other health care professional students while providing mentorship and motivations for learning, research and scholarly activity in classroom environments, active learning groups, laboratory experience and research opportunities. Establish and maintain scheduled office hours for student advising, tutoring, remediation and consultation. Provide service to the university community and students through serving on COM and department committees, providing leadership, mentorship and expertise to student, participating in community outreach events and with professional organizations or groups as assigned by the Vice Provost of Research and Scholarly Activity. Demonstrate the highest standard of professionalism and ethical behavior in all aspects of personal and professional actions and performance. Work cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors and support staff. Increase the prestige of the University and College through advancement of its mission and vision and advancement of your personal career. Be actively engaged in original and collaborative research. Other duties as assigned by the Vice Provost of Research and Scholarly Activity, the Provost, or his/her designee. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrate knowledge and skill in data analytics. Demonstrate ability to mentor and motivate students and peers. Demonstrated leadership experience in professional or educational settings. Demonstrations of published works of scholarly activity. Demonstrated ability to work independently to perform tasks, investigate and solve problems. Demonstrated ability and experience in the integration and analysis of very large data sets from multiple sources such as surveys, the census, administrative data files as well as raw research data. Demonstrated ability to use SAS (Statistical Analysis System) database programming which includes data access, data retrieval, data management, data analysis, and data presentation. Ability to create and use statistical algorithms to answer complex research questions. Minimum Qualifications
M.S. from an accredited institution in data analytics. One (1) – three (3) years of experience doing statistical analysis of health care records. Preferred Qualifications
PhD from an accredited institution. One (1) – three (3) years academic experience as a full time faculty member at a College of Osteopathic Medicine. Physical Requirements
Ability to orally communicate effectively with others. Ability to communicate effectively in writing, using the English language. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staffs at all levels. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies to include, but not limited to, pens, pencils, calculators, computer keyboards, telephone, etc. May be required to transport oneself to other campus offices, conference rooms, and on occasion, to off‑campus sites to attend meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars, etc. Contact
